MEDIA LITERACYYY!
The workshop rocked! We learned a lot about examining advertisements and such. Gosh, if I took this subject next year (which is a very high chance), I'll never look at advertisements the same way ever again.

Then after that, we tried decoding Music Videos. So, we examined four today: Madonna's "Nothing Really Matters" (which was freaky and cool at the same time, cos it was inspired by Memoirs of a Geisha), Evanescence's "Everybody's Fool" (very emo), Kylie Minogue's "Come Into My World" (cute), Spice Girls' "Wannabe" (crap, the song's stuck in my head) and Britney Spears' "Lucky" (which makes me wonder what the heck happened to her these past few years).

It was kinda fun. Then lunch came and you wouldn't believe what we had.

SIX BOXES OF PIZZA, A BOX OF CHICKEN WINGS AND ANOTHER BOX OF SWEET AND SPICY DRUMLETS. And then several minutes later, I don't know how many boxes of Old Chang Kee curry puffs arrived. Yes, please pick up your jaw from the floor now.

We were damn stuffed. And can you believe we only paid $2.50 for this?!

After lunch, we were asked to make a proposal of a TV advertisement for an item we picked randomly. My group got the MacBook. There was another group who got the Sony VAIO and their proposal was so damn funny! It involved David Beckham playing for Real Madrid against another team. The scores were both zero and he had to make a penalty shootout. So he whips out his VAIO and starts calculating the amount of force he needs to exert for the ball to make a goal, without the goalkeeper catching it! In the end, his calculations were correct and Real Madrid won the game!

LOL!

We were all asking: WHY DAVID BECKHAM?!

Apparently, the group completely had no answer so Ms Wong decided to save them by saying: "This shows that using the product is a no-brainer, right?"

Lol.

There was another proposal for UOB Women's Card. The first scene was of Avril Lavigne on a rooftop, feeling emo and about to jump off the building. *insert emo song here* when suddenly, she feels something in her palm. It's the UOB Women's card! *insert HALLELUIAH theme song here* And then she starts buying millions of clothes from those expensive boutiques.

It ends with her winking at the camera saying "Without it, everything isn't worth anything!"

AVRIL LAVIGNE?! LOL!!

BTW Bhavna, you better finish Breaking Dawn and return it to me before the holidays are over or I'm gonna hurt you.
